A 4x4 is a combat jeep in the N.O.V.A series. It has a machine gun turret and rocket launcher in Campaign, but only a machine gun turret in Multiplayer. It can be used as an effective anti-infantry tool. However,

it is very vulnerable to rocket launchers and relies on it speed and agility to stay alive. There are two variations of the 4x4: 4x4 or 4x4 V.2.

Campaign

4x4s appear in the campaign of N.O.V.A 2 and N.O.V.A 3 as both drivable vehicles and enemies. As an enemy, 4x4s usually appear when you are driving a speeder or 4x4 or Mech. When on foot they have only appeared once on the transport highway in N.O.V.A 2.

Multiplayer

4x4s only appear in the N.O.V.A 3 multiplayer, but they also appear once on Boreas, when Kal Wardin is reunited with Rufus. They are only available in the maps Badlands and Scorched Earth. 4x4s require two players in order to be fully inhabited; a driver and a turret man. In Multiplayer, the driver can run over enemies, while the turreteer can easily kill players who are on foot. The person in the turret can be killed without damaging the car itself, giving it a drawback. These vehicles can not lock on to mechs or other vehicles but the turret can demolish a mech in a matter of seconds. The best way to take out an enemy 4x4 is to place mines, get in a mech and shoot a rocket(The rocket must hit the car before it got away) and kills both player, or shoot it with a rocket launcher, or use other explosive weapons(like throw a grenade at the car and both players were kille).
